Barrier
Magnesium oxide is used as a barrier to prevent the strip from sticking at the high temperature annealing stage, which requires a uniform layer of magnesium oxide coating liquid to be applied to the upper and lower exterior surfaces of the strip.

The use of magnesium oxide for silicon steel coatings allows the formation of a film with orientation on the surface of silicon steel, thus enhancing its mechanical properties.
