Application

Nano magnesium oxide is often utilized in battery materials to improve the cyclability and charge/discharge times of batteries, and to extend the service life of batteries.

 

Negative electrode material additives

By adding appropriate amount of nano magnesium oxide in the cathode material of lithium-ion battery, the resulting cathode material possesses a reversible discharge capacity of more than 140mAh/g and good cycling performance. The use in the cathode material can improve the electrical conductivity, and it is recommended to add the amount of 0.3-0.5%.

 

Anode material dopant

The nano-magnesium oxide as a conductive dopant is solid-state reacted to produce magnesium-doped lithium ferromanganese phosphate, which further produces nano-structured cathode material with conductivity up to 10-2S/cm and actual discharge capacity up to 240mAh/g. This new cathode material has the characteristics of low price, high energy and safety, which is not only suitable for small and medium-sized polymer, colloidal and liquid lithium-ion batteries, but also particularly suitable for The new cathode material has the characteristics of low cost, high energy and safety.

 

Electrolyte deacidifier

Magnesium oxide can also optimize the capacity and cycling performance of lithium spinel manganate batteries. In the electrolyte of a lithium ion battery using lithium spinel manganate as the cathode material, nano-magnesium oxide was added as a deacidifying agent to remove the acid, and the amount of the addition was 0.5-20% of the weight of the electrolyte. By deacidifying the electrolyte, the content of free acid HF in the electrolyte was reduced to less than 20 ppm, the dissolving effect of HF on LiMn2O4 was mitigated, and the capacity and cycling performance of LiMn2O4 were improved.
