The following magnesium oxide is used as a catalyst carrier:

I. Provide large specific surface area

When high purity magnesium oxide is used as catalyst carrier, its tiny particle size and porous structure provide large specific surface area.This characteristic is conducive to carrying more catalytically active substances, thus enhancing the overall activity of the catalyst.

Ⅱ. Stabilization of catalyst structure

Due to its good thermal and chemical stability, high purity magnesium oxide is able to maintain the stability of the catalyst structure at high temperatures and under harsh reaction conditions.This can prevent the catalyst from deactivation due to sintering or chemical reaction, thus prolonging the service life of the catalyst.

III. Promoting catalytic reaction

In certain catalytic reactions, especially those involving acid-base pairs, high purity magnesium oxide can provide basic sites.This has a positive effect on catalytic reactions such as dehydrogenation, isomerization and other catalytic reactions that require an alkaline environment.In addition, magnesium oxide can reduce the surface acidity of the catalyst carrier, which is conducive to promoting the adsorption and reaction of acidic substances on the catalyst.

IV. Modulation of catalyst selectivity

The surface and structural properties of high-purity magnesium oxide help to regulate the selectivity of catalysts for specific reaction paths.By adjusting the content and distribution of magnesium oxide, the selectivity of the catalyst can be optimized, thus increasing the yield of the target product and reducing the generation of by-products.
